Another project close to our hearts is
"Fresh water for the children in Peru".
We install water filters in poor neighborhoods around Calca and Cusco.
Access to clean drinking water is vital for keeping children healthy. In Peru, tap water in many places contains unhealthy bacteria, which in turn can affect people's health. To improve the quality of the local water, the use of a water filter is a good solution.
Such a water filter currently costs between 30 and 90 euros (including accessories and installation) and has a lifespan of about 30 years if you clean it regularly. We show the people on site how to do this and let them try it out for themselves. This filter cleans about 19 liters of water under 20 minutes. So many children have a positive effect on their health through clean fresh water.
This water filter from Sawyer filters 99.99% of all bacteria (such as. Salmonella, Cholera, E.coli, Streptococcus,..) and 99.99% of all protozoa (Giardia and Cryptosporidia) and microplastics.
We have already installed more than 12 water filters in kindergartens, hospitals and schools.
We are looking forward to many more.
